It’s Voting Season (Part 1 of 2)

📆 Early voting begins MONDAY (10/23/2023) for the Parker County Transportation Bond. With $130,000,000 in funding, this bond covers a diverse set of projects that cater to everyone's needs across the county.

🌐 What's notable from my research is that this investment is worth even more, as it leverages matching funds from state and federal programs, acting as seed money to unlock additional grants.

💡 Here's an example in my Precinct: the former Highway 51 and 199 intersection nightmare turned success story in Springtown!

By taking the bull by the horns, so to speak, and the county developing the design for the intersection, bridge and road @ approx $1.5m…TxDOT then moved forward constructing the project and providing approx $20m in additional funding.

🛣️ In a similar move, the I-20 corridor, a notorious traffic nightmare, also desperately needs attention. The Transportation Bond will kickstart the construction of service roads, addressing this critical issue and laying the groundwork for future development.

🏡 Worried about the cost? In requesting the bottom line to my pocket book, an analysis shows that the average homeowner will pay around $87 per year in additional associated taxes, a small price for essential improvements. Not passing this bond will only increase costs in the future. (It’s called inflation 😩 )
